Retrospective exhibition Powered by Ljudmila at City Gallery Ljubljana has presented the role and activities of an important local centre of media art creation and a think tank for implementation of new technologies in the field of culture Ljubljana digital media lab – Ljudmila.
The curator of the show and editor of catalogue Alenka Gregorič has invited Miha Colner and Ida Hiršenfelder to undertake primary research of laboratory’s history dating back in the begining of 1990s and explore the pioneering years of public Internet use as well as the proliferation of local newmedia art which still holds importance in the international media-art geography. The two authors produced a text on media archeology as well as Ljudmila’s recent history and artistic production.
