A part of Theremidi Orchestra Women Section Ida Hiršenfelder, Saša Spačal, Robertina Šebjanič recieved a mobility grant in New York City. We were resident artists at “Little Slovenia” e.g. a residency flat of the Ministry for Culture of Republic of Slovenia in July 2013. We recieved a warm welcome by our friends Sean McIntyre and Reid Bingham who we met at Interactivos’12 as project leaders of a prototype for Autonomous Interactive Radio. Sean introduced us to some great people who hosted our perfomances Picky Noises TOWS-NY.

The first invitation by sound artist Keiko Uenishi was for featured performances at Share @The (OA) Can Factory where noisers, experimental sound artists, and the like, gather every Sunday night and jam. The performance Theremidi Orchestra WS “Picky Noises” took place on 14th July, 2014. We were using electronic noise devices, brand new mixer and some field recordings from the BQE.

The second performance took place at the Neverending Summer Camp upstate New York in an idealic nature environment. The stage was a large geodome built by sound artist and producer Dok Gregory who was the main initiator and organiser of the camp. The performance took place when the night fell on 19th July, 2013. Later next day, we were happy to join improvisation with sound artists Jeremy D Slater, Kenya Kawaguchi, Dok Gregory, Sean McIntyre and Reid Bingham.

Dok kindly invited us to record an improvised jam session at his production studio 23 Windows in Bushwick. We were very honoured to play with Jeremy D Slater, Dok Gregory Peter Principle. The track bellow is curtesy of Dok Gregory, in the recordings Theremidi Orchestra Women Section.

In the final performance of the Picky Noises series the Women Section was joined by our member Ian Soroka. The performance took place on 30th July, 2013 in Front Room Gallery, Brooklyn, NYC on the invitation of Jeremy D Slater who curated the show with two other acts: solo act by Lesley Flanigan and improvisation by Dok / Ken B. / ( ) Trio.
