Vinyl Fabrika: Faznbrifer live X Clockwork Voltage is a series of events organised by MKC Maribor, in which live musical creations are recorded on a unique vinyl record. The aim is mainly to establish exciting and unusual collaborations, to exchange opinions and build a community of artists, and to learn about analogue sound and its recording on a gramophone record.
The selected artists are well-established in electronic and experimental music. Their performances are usually performed with unusual acoustics, DIY instruments, modular synthesizers, etc. The emphasis is on improvisation, trying new techniques and using different musical equipment, so the events go beyond established musical genres. All performances are recorded live on vinyl records with the “Vinyl Fabrika” machine, a production and educational unit for recording music and other sounds on gramophone records. The device cuts the sound in “real-time” onto a vinyl record.
