Art-Area is an hour-long radio show about contemporary visual art and art practice. It is dedicated to following, debating, and commenting on current art events at the local and international level. The show is mainly conducted in the Slovenian language with occasional interviews and discussions in English, Croatian and Serbian language. I joined the editorial at the end of 2006 when Art-Area editor Miha Colner invited me to contribute critiques, texts, and interviews to the show. At the time, the show was aired prime-time on Wednesdays at 8 pm. The show is one of Radio Student’s oldest emissions of Editorial for Culture and Humanities. At the same time, it is also the only show in Slovenian media, which dedicates an entire hour of air to presenting contemporary art. Another similar show Osmi dan [The Eighth Day] is presented weekly for half an hour. Older broadcastings of Art-Area may be found at Radio Student’s Archive. We passed on the art-area to younger generations of critics Jasna Jernejšek and Miha Kelemina for the 200th anniversary edition of the show on 8 October 2012.
